Badminton ASSOCIATION
Dundee Area Badminton Association promotes the sport of badminton in Dundee and the surrounding areas.
Affiliated to Badminton Scotland, DABA developed from the former Dundee Churches League and includes clubs in Angus and North East Fife. There are presently twelve member clubs that play in the various leagues that DABA run as well as other social badminton clubs in the area.
DABA currently runs the undernoted senior and junior leagues:
- Mixed Doubles Leagues (compromising 11 teams in 2 Divisions) – fixtures are played home and away throughout the season.
- Gents Doubles Leagues (compromising 22 teams in 4 Divisions) – fixtures are played at David Lloyd Sports Centre on various Sunday afternoons throughout the season.
- Ladies Doubles League (compromising 10 teams in 2 Divisions) – fixtures are played at David Lloyd Sports Centre on various Sunday afternoons throughout the season.
- Ladder events (3 per season)
- DABA Bronze Tournament (1 per season)
- Handicap Cup
- Junior Ladder events (2 or 3 per season)
Recent Fixtures
Badminton Scotland is the national body responsible for promoting and encouraging the growth and development of the sport within Scotland, fostering strong links with volunteer groups and many 3rd sector organisations, developing programmes to pool resources and achieve common goals. Badminton is unique in terms of accessibility, appealing to all ages and all groups and communities in Scotland.
